Hello my Lovelies!
Happy Monday! 🙂
Just a quick update for today. If you have been following us on Facebook and Instagram, you will no doubt have seen some early drafts of our new brand identity board.
After creating my DIY website in Wix about a year ago, I have decided to hire a professional web designer to give it a fresh new look on the same platform, as well as designing a new logo for us. Basically a new brand identity that reflects more of our business philosophy.
After looking at a few designers, I chose Amanda Mays of Blue Poppy Lane to take on the task. She works strictly on the Wix platform, and I felt like she understood my needs right away.
You will see in just a minute that the look and feel will be completely different from our existing website. I was going for an eclectic feel that reflects how we approach each design project. I love to mix different decorating styles and periods for a more collected and unique feel, and I LOVE a bit of boho chic.
So here is the logo that we finally decided on
You can see the stripes and the font on the CV (which stands for Casa Vilora) has more of a classic touch, the font below has more of a casual whimsical feel and the floral detail adds that boho chic element. It does lend itself to a slightly feminine feel without being too precious. The vast majority of my clients and prospects are female, so this will be very relatable.
My goal was to make sure the logo was unique, and most importantly MEMORABLE and easily IDENTIFIABLE
This is the branding board with all the elements. We are still working out how some of these elements will be used on the website
It encompasses all of my favorite things:
The color scheme of indigo, Kelly green, fuchsia is my absolute favorite.
The stripes – which will be horizontally oriented has fast become my signature detail in a lot of my design projects
The watercolor detail – if I was an artist, I would probably paint with watercolors. I love the look and feel of watercolor paintings. They just seem comfortable and gives me a feel of ease
The animal print – just the fun factor and a great nod to my love of mixing patterns that seemingly don’t work together, but look fabulous together in the room. The leopard print will be used sparingly but it will definitely be on the new website.
The floral is just my touch of feminine. It is also my boho chicness chiming in, and it does give me the great opportunity to have a mix of patterns that don’t match but look fab together
The font is just plain fabulous!
The website is currently being worked on, and it will hopefully be going live in a few weeks. I will be doing a personal photo-shoot soon for pictures for the “about me’ page. I am also considering doing a welcome video, and finally I am interviewing copywriters to rewrite the content on the main pages of the website.
My Wix site has served me well – SEO was great and I didn’t see the need to change platforms. I really just wanted a fresh, new, professional look. This definitely saved me some $$ as I was working with a pre-existing site with not a lot of coding involved
I will probably be making some changes here on The Naked Decorator to match the new look of the website soon afterwards.
What are your thoughts on the branding so far? Anything you would do differently? I’d love to know what y’all think
Thanks for stopping by today! A great, productive week to you all!
Wishing You beauty and Inspiration!
