An Inspiring Homework Loft Makeover

I have an amazing makeover of a homework loft that I recently completed to share with you all today.

Homework Loft Painted InWaterlogue App

This was for one of my all time favorite clients whom I have worked with now for the past 4 years or so, on several rooms in their home. When she recently contacted me to makeover the kids’ homework loft, I was super excited to get the ball rolling!

I pretty much have their style down pat at this point, but she requested something fun and still inspiring for the kids to encourage doing homework.

Let’s take a look at where we started with the room

BEFORE Shot of Homework Loft

It was certainly not a bad looking space. It definitely had some great potential. I loved the built-in bookcases plus two additional bookcases that my client wanted to keep in the room. Tons of storage for all the books that we needed to fit in.

The inspiration for the room was this fun colorful fabric from Kravet that I designed and had my workroom make into a functional flat roman shade. This definitely added the fun factor to the room.

Next I had the back of each shelf painted in a beautiful Teal color from Glidden Paint called “Totally Teal”

I then had the generic builder grade light fixture changed to a fun capiz pendant and added two swing arm desk lamps to maximize lighting

Next I added the agate style chairs, and a big beautiful bulletin board.

I had the idea to do the three clocks on the wall space above the window that will be set to the time and labeled with the names of three of their favorite cities – Jerusalem, Maui and Las Vegas. (The labels didn’t make it in time for the installation). My client loved the idea!

Then I got down to styling the shelves……the fun part for me!

Here’s another view of the room

…..And another

Notice the home made jetpack? Lol. I had to keep it in the room

So this is the homework loft.

My client is responsible for taking all the amazing shots of the room (The last picture is just blown up and the first one is the result of using the Waterlogue app)

Next project will be one of her daughter’s bedroom! I can’t wait!!

Wishing You Beauty and Inspiration!
