This past Sunday was pretty much one of the most exciting days of my career! One of my design projects was featured in The Escapes section of The Houston Chronicle newspaper!!
This is absolutely a proud moment, and a big deal for me!
It all started a few weeks ago when I was contacted by one of the Staff Writers, Alyson at the Houston Chronicle. She was looking for a local project to feature, and she really liked my body of work, and was interested in a few of my recent projects. She asked if any of my recent clients would be ok with being interviewed in their home for the feature. Of course, there were a few clients I could think of! My dear clients, Jim and Debbie were the first to get back to me with a YES. And so I set about coordinating the meeting with my clients and Alyson.
She arrived at my clients home, took a tour and sat down to ask questions, such as what they wanted for their project, how it all came together and the spaces they use most. It was a really relaxed interview that lasted about 20 minutes, and my clients had some great, funny stories to tell – especially the one where they lived in an RV for a year!
Alyson also had a few questions for me – where I pulled my inspiration from, the color palette and how I decided on some of the materials and finishes that I chose for the project.
If you have been following my blog for a while, you may have seen some of these photos from this amazing project
Jim and Debbie were a dream to work with. They had a few must haves, but trusted me to take the lead to create the home of their dreams.
This project was a great success all around
