Hello my lovelies!
I know I have been M.I.A. this week, but with great reason. I have been at the High Point Spring Furniture Market all week soaking up new design trends, ideas and even some learning. In fact, I am writing this post sitting here at the gate at the Greensboro airport.
I didn’t realize how much I would miss my kiddos, and my dog Rufus, whose birthday was yesterday (Earth Day)….and even the studio.
Me and My Hot Doggie, Rufus
Needless to say, I got nothing done this week for the One Room Challenge 🙁
For those who aren’t familiar with the One Room Challenge – It is a twice a year design challenge hosted by Linda at Calling It Home Blog. 20 design and lifestyle bloggers are invited to makeover a room in their home, or a client’s home, and blog about the progress over a six week period leading up to the big reveal on week 6. Other participants (like myself) are also invited to join each week through a linking party posted each Thursday. You can check out this week’s linking party here
This time around, and this is my third time, I am re-doing my son’s teen bedroom. Joshua just turned 13 last November, and it was just time to update his room and give him more storage. You can follow the progress of his room makeover: week 1, week 2, and week 3
In my last post, the floors were installed and ready to be stained, and that will happen this weekend.
Basically, the room still looks like this. No change from last week’s post
Painted Walls and Doors
I do know that my seamstress has been texting me all week at market about the window treatment and pillows, so I know those are in the works this week.
I am quite a bit nervous that I am so far behind, so I will have to really push to get this room done in two weeks! Wish me luck.
Hopefully next week I will have a lot more progress to write about. In the meantime, I will leave you with one of my favorite pictures form High Point.
High Point Junior League Show House
Actually, this is from the Randall B.Terry Jr. House for the High Point Junior League Show House. This room was done by High Point based Designer, Leslie Moore. I will be sharing more about this show house tour soon, and more about my trip to High Point.
Well, my flight is about to board! I’ll see you guys later!
Wishing You Beauty and Inspiration!
