One Room Challenge: Small Swanky Sitting Room Week 3 of 6

We are at the halfway mark for the One Room Challenge, hosted by Linda over at Calling It Home, and this is where I am wondering if I am crazy taking on this challenge at such a busy time in my life. 🙂

No matter how busy it gets though, I will make time for this, because not only am I finally getting one room done in my new home, but I am also getting to network with some wonderful Bloggers who share the same love for Interior Design as I do.

In case you missed my posts for week one and week two, you can see them here, and here

So I made a little progress this week. I guess you could say I am one step closer.

I got the chandelier hung and I love it! The loveseat got delivered. The walls got painted, and I actually decided not to go with the Benjamin Moore Pelican Gray. After looking at the swatch in different lighting, I thought it would be too light, so I went with Benjamin Moore Pewter instead. The bombe chest was moved from the spare bedroom upstairs to the room, and it was so heavy! That is one solid piece of furniture. No wonder it has held up so well for the last 12 or so years. I decided not to paint the base. A little bit of black will go great with the chair at the desk.

Sorry for the dark pictures 🙁

I also got the fabrics ordered and they hopefully should be arriving by early next week so that I can get them to my workroom to be made into custom silk draperies and custom pillows. The FUN stuff! 🙂 🙂

Soon you will see if I decided on the cream leopard or the blue leopard. Which one do you think I went with? 🙂

Here’s more of the room’s progress

Here, you can see that one of my challenges is the light switches above the bombe chest. They are taking up valuable real estate……where art should go. I will need to come up with a solution for this.

Well that is it for my progress for the week.

Hop on over to Calling It Home to check out the invited participants listed below, and check out the Linking party going on now!

Wishing You Beauty and Inspiration!
