When I Grow Up I Want To Be Like Tiffany Brooks

I ran out as fast as I could to get the May 2017 issue of The HGTV Magazine. I just had to get a glimpse of the 4 page spread of the HGTV Smart Home designed by Tiffany Brooks.

This is the one!

Casa Vilora Interiors

If you have ever watched HGTV, then you most likely know who Tiffany Brooks is. And in case you don’t, She is season eight winner of HGTV Design Star and host on the network.

Tiffany is a Chicago based Interior Designer, and was recently named as one of the nation’s Top 20 African American Interior Designers. Her work with HGTV since her big win is nothing short of inspiring to me. She is the designer and host of the HGTV Smart Home, and you can see from the images I am about to share, that she really did her thing with the decor, to keep up with the cutting edge technology and gadgetry installed throughout the Smart home. I will let you get the magazine to read all about the beautiful 3300sf home in Scottsdale AZ, but I will happily share some images from her feature with you 🙂

Isn’t the home gorgeous? Tiffany infused her chic contemporary style into this home, and I cannot wait to see more. I happen to be headed to Scottsdale in May for the Interior Design Society Conference, and I am hoping to get a chance to go see the home in person.

And in case you aren’t aware, the 2017 HGTV Smart Home could be yours. Follow Tiffany to find out when entries open

Looking at  her beautiful body of work, you will understand why I want to be her when I grow up. But what drew me to Tiffany is that she reminds me so much of my own journey as an Interior Designer. Like me, she didn’t start out in Interior Design in the traditional way. But just like my story, interior design found her. She worked as a property manager, and quickly realized her talent and skills when she got the opportunity to decorate model apartments. Well as they say, the rest is history. She really stepped into her destiny, and is now the powerful force behind Tiffany Brooks Interiors

This is one of my favorite projects of hers. Image via Tiffany Brooks Facebook Page. See more of her portfolio here

I had the opportunity to meet her last August in Atlanta at The Black Interior Designers Conference (well, I did meet her briefly at High Point market before that). She was one of the presenters for one of the break out sessions.

I learned so much in the short 30 minute session, and immediately put a lot of it into action in my own growing business. I hope she is on the speaker list for this year’s conference. She is as down to Earth as they come, crazy sense of humor, and all around good person to be around. Her husband (who was also at the conference) is just as goofy as she is 🙂

Tiffany was also the Designer for the 2016 HGTV Smart Home. You can read more about that home here

So you can see just how drawn I am to her talent and personality. I am on my way to becoming just like her in my own career 🙂 HGTV, watch out! 🙂

If you are seeing this Tiffany, congratulations on all your accomplishments. You are impacting designers like me more than you even realize!

Wishing You beauty and Inspiration!
